We added a wing onto the home on the west side nestled in between the original red home and the barn garage. The location kept the focus on the original 1800’s home while our addition was secondary.  The new wing also created a true courtyard between the existing structures and the sense of a small village.  Each of the individual suites (wings) are self-sufficient with their own kitchens, baths and laundry rooms.  The interior spaces created for the project were a first-floor bedroom suite, great room, laundry/utility room, kitchen, second bedroom suite for a caregiver and additional garage space.  Historically the farm house would expand and grow as the needs arose.  We approached our idea with the same sense of necessity.
